Product Description
Soy Protein Isolate
Soy protein concentrate is about 70%/65% soy protein and is basically defatted soy flour without the water-soluble carbohydrates. It is made by removing part of the carbohydrates (soluble sugars) from dehulled and defatted soybeans. Soy protein concentrate retains most of the fiber of the original soybean. It is widely used as a functional or nutritional ingredient in a wide variety of food products, mainly in baked foods, breakfast cereals, and in some meat products.
Soy protein concentrate is used in meat and poultry products to increase water and fat retention and to improve nutritional values (more protein, less fat). Soy protein concentrates are available in different forms: granules, flour and spray-dried. Because they are very digestible, they are well-suited for children, pregnant and lactating women, and the elderly. They are also used in pet foods, milk replacements for babies (human and livestock), and even used for some nonfood applications.
Frequently Asked Questions
?
What is the difference between Soy Protein Isolate and Soy Protein Concentrate?
Soy Protein Isolate has a higher protein content (minimum 90% on dry basis) and fewer carbohydrates. Soy Protein Concentrate typically contains about 65%-70% protein and retains most of the dietary fiber of the original soybean.
?
What are the benefits of using soy protein in piglet breeding?
Soy protein can replace part of the fish meal in feed. It provides a more balanced amino acid profile that is easily absorbed, and contains active substances like isoflavones and peptides that promote piglet growth.
?
How does soy protein perform in calf feed?
By adding methionine to soy protein isolate, you can effectively enhance calf growth. Replacing up to 60% of milk protein with soy protein isolate hydrolysate can help maintain or improve calves' growth rates.
?
Is soy protein concentrate suitable for pet food and infant milk replacements?
Yes. Because soy protein concentrates are highly digestible, they are well-suited for sensitive groups including infants, pregnant or lactating animals/humans, the elderly, and are widely used in pet foods and milk replacers.
